Spicy Mango Turmeric Lassi
This vibrant lassi is my go-to when I need a refreshing pick-me-up. The spicy kick from the ginger combined with the sweetness of mango is just magical!

I’ll never forget the first time I tried a traditional lassi while traveling in India.
It was creamy, refreshing, and I knew I had to recreate that experience at home.
This Spicy Mango Turmeric Lassi blends those nostalgic flavors with a twist of spice and a whole lot of goodness.
I love how the turmeric adds a beautiful golden hue and a healthy boost that makes me feel like I’m sipping sunshine.
What Makes This Recipe Special
- ✓Made with simple, plant-based ingredients that are easy to find
- ✓No animal products - completely vegan and cruelty-free
- ✓Perfect for beginners and experienced cooks alike
- ✓Delicious results that everyone will love, vegan or not
Ingredients & Substitutions
The mango is the star here, so choose a perfectly ripe one for the best flavor. If you can’t find coconut yogurt, any plant-based yogurt will work, but I love coconut for its creaminess. And don’t skip the black pepper; it really helps your body absorb the benefits of turmeric!
Tips & Notes
- •I like to keep some extra mango in the freezer for those spontaneous lassi cravings.
- •If you want a little more complexity, add a pinch of cayenne pepper for an extra kick!
Recipe Variations
- •Sometimes I’ll add a handful of spinach or kale for a green twist—just blend it in with the other ingredients.
- •You can also swap the coconut yogurt for almond or cashew yogurt for a different flavor profile.
Storage & Freezing
This lassi is best enjoyed fresh, but you can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Just give it a good shake or stir before drinking, as it may separate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use frozen mango?
Absolutely! Just blend it straight from the freezer; it’ll make your lassi extra creamy and cold.

Ingredients
Instructions
- 1
Start by preparing your ingredients. Peel and dice the mango, grate the ginger, and, if you’re using fresh turmeric, peel and chop that too.
- 2
In a blender, combine the diced mango, coconut yogurt, coconut milk, grated ginger, turmeric powder, maple syrup, lime juice, and black pepper.
- 3
Blend everything until smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick for your taste, you can add a bit more coconut milk.
- 4
Taste the lassi and adjust the sweetness with more maple syrup if you like.
- 5
If you want a chilled drink, throw in a handful of ice cubes and blend again.
- 6
Pour it into your favorite glasses and enjoy immediately, or chill it in the fridge for a bit if you prefer it cold!
